Create a Sync Configuration

Use the Sync Configuration Manager tool to define which records are synced to mobile users based on selected criteria. This tool provides a guided workflow for creating sync configurations for Jobs, Work Orders, and Price Books.

  • Sync configurations can be time-bound using effective and expiration dates

  • Custom field filtering requires matching API names between the source object and the sync configuration object

  • The tool provides a unified workflow for assigning data access across supported objects

Prerequisites

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Access the Tool

  1. Open the Sync Configuration Manager tool from the location where you added the Sync Configuration Manager.

    Or use the App Launcher and enter Sync and select Sync Configuration Manager.

    The tool is available as a configurable component that runs as a guided workflow.

  2. Click Next and continue with 2. Select Contacts.

  1. Select the users (contacts) for the configuration.

    Use the search and filter options to locate users. For example, you can filter by office or other available fields.

  2. Click Next and continue with 3. Define Sync Criteria and Target Data Type.

  1. Choose the type of records the configuration applies to for the target data type:

    • Jobs

    • Work Orders

    • Price Books

  2. To define the sync criteria, specify the conditions that determine which records are included in the sync. You can:

  3. Select in the Account, Office, and Segment standard fields.

    For the Account field, type the name of the account to show matches.

  4. Use the date controls to optionally pick a date for the following:

    • Effective Date — when the configuration becomes active.

    • Expiration Date — when the configuration no longer applies.

  5. Click Next and continue with 4. Review Configuration and Create.

  1. Review the configuration in the top panel.

  2. Click Create Sync Configurations to create the sync configuration.

5. Result

  1. When the configuration is created:

    • A sync configuration record is generated and shown in a grid table

  2. Click View next to the record to return to see the details of the sync configuration

    Associated sync link records are created to apply the configuration to the selected users.

  3. Click + Create More Sync Configurations to repeat this process to create additional configurations as needed.
