Report Viewer
Introduction
Report Viewer is used to view and run FX Reports in FieldFX Back Office and FieldFX Mobile. You can also attach these reports as PDFs or HTML documents. They can be used on either job, ticket, quote, invoice and eForm records.

When using the Report Viewer, you can view or run a report and view a PDF report.
You can also view FX Reports that are attached to records from FieldFX Back Office or from FieldFX Mobile.
With the next release of Report Viewer due out on April 5, 2024, you should test against your sandbox org on the new BETA channel version. There have been changes made that could prevent your reports from rendering correctly after that date.
View a PDF Report
The Report Viewer displays as follows when you run a PDF report.
In FX Mobile

Tap Edit to enable Edit mode and display a page of items you need to complete on the report.

With Edit mode enabled, you can:

Click a signature line to capture a digital signature.

Click an image placeholder to attach an image.

Click Edit again to disable Edit mode and save your changes.

Click Add to finish and attach the report.

Open the record.

Click the report’s button.

(Optional) Add a signature to the report:
If you are going to use a Topaz signature pad to sign the report, connect the signature pad to your device before clicking the signature line. .. Click the signature line. .. Draw a signature. + TIP: Click the Delete button to clear the capture and try again.

Click Save.

Click Add to attach the report to the record.

Open the record.

Select Reports on the sidebar.
TIP: If the report you want to run doesn’t display, select Show All and select the report on the sidebar.

Click Save.

(Optional) Print the report:

Select Print.

Print the report on a printer connected to the device.

Select Save to attach the report to the record.

Tap the blue circle with the white check mark to Save the report to the record
Test Report Rendering on BETA Channel Version

Refresh your sandbox environment.
You can test against an exact copy of your production environment.

In your sandbox environment,

To open Setup, click .

Type
Custom Settings
in the Search box. -
Find and select FX Settings and click Manage.

Define Google Chrome PDFs Option
Google Chrome is a 3rd party application, and the instructions for how to enable this option may change at any time without warning. |
Google Chrome allows PDFs to either be saved to the user’s device or opened in the browser. The Report Viewer requires that reports be opened in the browser.

Open Google Chrome.

In Google Chrome, select the three vertical dot menu button at the top right, then click Settings.
Or, in the search bar, go to
chrome://settings
. -
In Search settings type
PDF
. -
Select Site Settings.

Scroll to the bottom of the screen and select Additional content settings.

Select PDF documents.
-
Select Open PDFs in Chrome.
