Create the Sync Staged Data Admin Data User

When changing Staged Data in the Sync Profile Wizard, the user changing the data shouldn’t be the same user who syncs data to to users with a specific sync profile. There should be a specific user just used to sync the staged data.

A specific user should be created so that is the only user in the org that can run the sync for the staged data. No other user in the org should have the ability to run a sync staged data.

Create the User

  1. In your org’s Setup, enter user in the Quick Find search bar.

  2. Select Users and click New User.

  3. At the New User screen, complete the information under General Information.

    Field Action / Description

    First Name

    Enter a unique name for the user.

    Since this is for the Sync Staged Data admin, use Sync Staged Data for the first name
    and Admin for the last name.

    Last Name
    (Required)

    Alias
    (Required)

    Enter a nickname.

    Email
    (Required)

    Enter an email address for the user.

    Set the email address to that of the system administrator.

    Username
    (Required)

    Set to something like fieldfx_sync_staged_data_admin@do_not_delete.com

    You don’t need to use this exact username but setting it like this can act as a reminder to the purpose of the user. The system admin will receive an email asking them to verify and reset the user password. Keep the password easy to remember, you will need it later.

    User License

    In the dropdown, set to Salesforce Platform.

    Profile

    In the dropdown, set to FX Back Office v2

    This user must have access to the FX5 license.
  4. Click Save.

    The email address you entered above receives an email from Salesforce asking you to verify the user’s account.

  5. Click Very Account to launch a browser window to your account and to step through entering a new password.

    Keep the password easy to remember and record it since it might be needed later.

  6. Continue with Set User’s License Assignments.

Set User’s License Assignments

  1. In the user’s record, click Permission Set Group Assignments.

  2. In Permission Set Group Assignments, click Edit Assignments.

  3. Click the permission set group in the Available Set Groups list and then click → to add it to the Enable Permission Set Groups list.

  4. When finished, click Save to return to the main user’s record page.

Create and Assign New Permission Set

You will need to create a new permission set called FieldFX_StagedDataPermissionSet.

Name the permission set as above or only users with that permission set will be able to run as in the Sync Profile Wizard.
  1. In the org’s setup, type Perm in the Quick Find search box.

  2. Select Permission Sets and at Permission Sets, click New.

    1. Enter FieldFX_StagedDataPermissionSet for the Label.

      The API Name field is automatically filled in.

    2. Under Select the type of users who will use this permission set, set the License dropdown to Salesforce Platform.

  3. Click Save.

    The new permission set appears in the list.

    Set all the appropriate lookup types to View All and set Read access to all the needed fields for syncing.
