FieldFX Mobile App Jobs Page

In the FieldFX Mobile app, you can access, add, and update jobs.

Available Jobs List

When you access jobs in the FieldFX Mobile App, a list of the available jobs are shown.

Enter a term and the list autofilters to show the results.

You can show only certain types by selecting a sort option:

Column Headers

The list of available jobs is shown in a table with these headers:

  • Name

  • Tracking Number

  • Record Type ID

  • Status

  • Price Book

  • Last Modified By ID

  • Status

Each of these columns can have the display order changed to ascending (Z to A, ↓) or descending (A to Z, ↑). If the sort icon icon appears in the column header, that column is the one being sorted.

Job Summary Details

The details of the job are shown and appear differently if the tablet is in Portrait or Landscape orientation.

Indicator

  • The Job Status indicator displays the job’s status.

The Details tab for a FieldFX Mobile job has these sections:

Name
(Required)

Name of the job

Priority (Read Only)

The priority for the job.

Customer

The name of the customer the job is for.

Warehouse

Tap to select a warehouse.

Office

The account tied to this job.

When you click on the field, a dropdown of valid customer locations appear. Select from the list.

Primary Job Contact

Tap to pull up a selection list and choose a contact.

Segment

The type of segment for the job.

AltSync
checkbox

Whether the job uses AltSync.

Sync
checkbox

Whether the job uses Sync.

Price Book
(Required)

Tap the field to select the price book to use for the job.

Notes

Any notes for the job.

Contact Name

Enter the name of the contact for the job.

Customer PO

Enter the PO number attached to a customer for this job.

Contact Phone

The phone number that can used be used for a job contact.

Location Details

Well

Tap the input field to open a list of available wells. Select from the list.

Site Address 1

The first part of the address for the job site.

AFE Number

Site City

The city for the job site.

Site State

The state for the job site.

Site Zip

The zip code for the job site.

Site Latitude

The latitude coordinates for the job site.

Your device must have a GPS receiver or chip to capture the Geolocation. Geolocation aren’t supported on Windows devices and the information can’t be entered manually.

For iPads and Android tablets that have a GPS receiver, use the Map pin button to capture the current device’s GPS coordinates. You can use the Clear button to remove the Geolocation data or the Undo button.

Site Longitude

The longitude coordinates for the job site.

Your device must have a GPS receiver or chip to capture the Geolocation. Geolocation aren’t supported on Windows devices and the information can’t be entered manually.

For iPads and Android tablets that have a GPS receiver, use the Map pin button to capture the current device’s GPS coordinates. You can use the Clear button to remove the Geolocation data or the Undo button.

Scheduling

Requested Start Date

The requested start date and start time for the job.

Projected Start Date

The projected start date and time of the job.

Projected End Date

The projected end of the job.

Back Office Details

Quote

The quote attached to the job.

Tap the field to select a quote from the choices shown.

Total Amount
(Read Only)

The total amount in the quote (pulled from back office).

Total Cost
(Read-Only)

The total cost on the quote (pulled from Back Office).

Customer PO Amount

The amount of the customer PO.

System Information

Tracking Number
(Read Only)

The system automatically assigns a tracking number. In the case of a copied job, the tracking number is incremented by one to the tracking number from the job it was copied from.

Status

Upon initial job creation, this field is blank.

Created by ID
(Read Only)

The ID of the user.

Last Modified by ID
(Read Only)

The profile name of the last person to modify the job.

Created Date
(Read Only)

The date the job was created.

Last Modified Date
(Read Only)

The date the job was last modified.

Step-by-Step Guides

On the Jobs page of the FieldFX Mobile App, you can do the following:

Access Jobs in FieldFX Mobile App

When you open the FieldFX Mobile App, the list of available jobs automatically opens.

Only jobs that the mobile user has been assigned to on the Job record will appear in the list.

Search and Sort Jobs

  1. At the main Jobs list screen, you can use the Search For…​ search field to find a job.

  2. Enter the desired text.

    The list automatically populates with jobs matching the search criteria.

  3. To sort the list of available jobs, tap in the Sort field and choose either:

    • Name

    • Customer

    • Office *

    A blue bar next to the column indicates what is selected.

    The list of jobs sorts on the chosen option.

Use the Date/Time Picker

Some fields in Jobs and Tickets in the FieldFX Mobile App require a date and time to be set.

To set the date and time, tap in the field. The left side of the field brings up a calendar where you can choose the date. The right side of the field brings up scroll wheels where you can choose the time.

The date and time pickers appear different for FieldFX Mobile depending on whether you are accessing it on a Windows device, iPad, or Android tablet.

  1. Tap in the left side of the Date field to open the Date/Time Picker.

    The current date and time is inserted.

  2. To add or change the date, tap the date to open the date picker.

    Date Picker

    Use the ← or → arrows to move to the previous or next months. To change the year, hover over the year and use the ↑ or ↓ arrows. Tap on the new date.

    If the date isn’t the current date, tap TODAY to insert the current date.

  3. To change the time, tap on the time to open up the time picker.

    Time Picker

    Use the ↑ or ↓ arrows to change the hour and minute.

    To switch between AM and PM, tap it.

Add or Copy a Job

The fields shown below can vary according to the specific page layouts used in your org. Some fields shown below may or may not be present depending on the needs in your org. For more information on page layouts, see Page Layouts

You can add a new job or copy the currently opened job in the FieldFX Mobile App.

  1. To copy a job, tap Copy on a currently opened job.

    To create a new job, tap + New Job.

    The following the steps are the same whether you are copying a job or creating a new job.

    You may have different layouts depending on the record type of the job. These job types are shown across the top of the new job. If the new job is a copy of an existing job, you can’t change the record type of the copy.
    If you can’t create a job, check with your system admin to ensure that your user profile has the right object permissions to create the job.
  2. If you’re creating a new job and your organization has multiple job types, select the appropriate job type.

  3. Enter the specifics for the new job using the fields in the Job Details section.

    If you have created a copy of an existing job, change the information to match the new parameters for the new job copy. In the title of the window, it says "Copy Job".
    Required fields have a red asterisk. To erase the value in the field, click the loopback error icon.
  4. If you have an iPad or Android and it has a GPS receiver, click the Pin button to capture the current GPS coordinates.

    This is not enabled for Window’s devices.
  5. Tap Save button to save the job.
