Inventory Tracking Setup
Prerequisites
To set up the Inventory Tracking feature, you need to:

Configure the FX Settings

From Setup, enter
custom setting
in the Quick Find box, then select Custom Settings. -
Click Manage next to FX Settings.

Click Edit.
-
Select EnableInventoryTracking.
-
Click Save.
-
Continue with Add the Catalog Track Inventory checkbox to the Price Book Item object.

From Setup, enter
object
in the Quick Find box, then select Objects. -
Click Price Book Item.

Under Custom Fields & Relationships, click New.

Select Formula.
-
Click Next.
-
In Field Label, enter
Catalog Track Inventory
. -
Under Formula Return Type, select Checkbox.
-
Click Next.
-
In Catalog Track Inventory (checkbox), enter the following formula:
FX5__Catalog_Item__r.FX5__Track_Inventory__c

Click Next.
-
Click Visible twice.
-
Click Next.

Select the page layouts on which to include the checkbox.

Click Save.
-
Grant permissions for the checkbox.
-
Continue with Configure Catalog Items.
Configure Catalog Items

Open the Catalog Items tab.
-
Open a catalog item.
You cannot use the Inventory Tracking feature for Labor catalog items

Click Edit.
-
Select Track Inventory.
-
Click Save.
-
Repeat these steps for other catalog items if needed.

Continue with Grant Permission to Manage Warehouses and Warehouse Items.

From Setup, enter
permissions
in the Quick Find box, then select Permission Sets. -
Open a permission set.

Under Apps, click Object Settings.

Click Warehouses.
-
Click Edit.
-
Under Object Permissions, select Read, Create, and Edit.

Under Field Permissions, select Read and Edit for every field.
-
Click Save.
-
At the top of the page, click the arrow next to Warehouses and select Warehouse Items.

Click Edit.
-
Under Object Permissions, select Read, Create, and Edit.
-
Under Field Permissions, select Read and Edit for every field.
-
Click Save.
-
Repeat these steps for other permission sets if needed.
