To ensure you are validating the right object, please verify the object’s API Name (e.g. FX5__ObjectName__c
) in Setup, as you might have several objects that share the same Name.

If you are using any of the invoice module objects being deprecated, you can continue using them, as the ServiceMax product team is not planning on building replacement functionality for the Credit Memo and Payment functions.
HTML Reports
ServiceMax is retiring support for report templates written in HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) with the December 2023 release.
The HTML reports are used for generating customer-facing quote, ticket, and invoice documents.
How Does This Affect Me?
After Dec 18, 2023 ServiceMax will discontinue support and stop working on enhancements for report templates written in HTML. The report templates will continue working, however:
-
HTML reports will not be editable with the out of the box report template writer. Therefore any changes to HTML reports will have to be done manually.
-
Any change to the technology used to render report template that will make HTML reports not working correctly, will not be addressed.
Why are these Features being Deprecated?
ServiceMax has switched to PDF reports in order to make report templates:
-
More portable, as PDF is a portable format whereas HTML is not. This means that the PDF report will render the same way across any platform.
-
Easier to organize. With PDF reports, users can specify page number for example, whereas with HTML they cannot.
-
More reliable. PDF reports are less permissive than HTML when it comes to syntax. This will prevent issues where an upgrade in a report viewer will cause a report to not render correctly.
How Do I Tell If This Affects Me?
Verify if the Report Template records (FX5__Report_Template__c
) have only a .html document attached in the Related list.
What Actions Can I Take?
Contact your account manager to explore the possibility of converting the HTML reports to PDF.
What if I Don’t Take Action?
Reports written using HTML will continue to work, however, they won’t be editable with the Report Editor tool which outputs XML.
With HTML reports, you will not be able to fully take advantage of newly released features for PDF reports, such as translations, embedding DataGuide forms, and others.
You should use the Report Template Editor to create reports.
