In the Lightning Experience, you can still bulk edit existing Invoice Items even when the invoice’s Price Book is expired. This lets you correct or update items on older invoices. However, Lightning does not allow you to add or copy new invoice items from an expired Price Book. When a Price Book is expired, actions that add or copy items from that Price Book are disabled or read-only. |

Use the Invoice Item Builder to add ticket items and/or price book items to the invoice.
The Invoice-Item-Builder has been deprecated and is no longer supported. You should switch to the Lightning Experience and use those tools FieldFX has there instead.
FieldFX now uses a Lightning‑based, ticket‑driven invoicing model. Billable items are added to tickets as ticket items, which are linked to price book items. Invoices are then created from those tickets, using the ticket items as the source of invoice line items.
FieldFX has deprecated these items, for the same functionality, use the listed alternative.

Edit Invoice Items When Price Books Are Expired (Lightning)
When you work with invoices in the Lightning Experience, FieldFX enforces special rules for invoices that reference an expired Price Book.
-
You can still edit existing Invoice Items on an invoice whose parent Price Book is expired
-
In the Bulk Edit – Invoice Item tool in Lightning, Invoice Items that reference an expired Price Book remain editable in the grid
-
To preserve control over expired pricing, Lightning controls that depend on the active Price Book, such as actions that add or copy items from the Price Book, are disabled or read-only when the Price Book is expired
This behavior is consistent with manual Invoice Item editing. Users can correct existing Invoice Items, but they cannot add or copy new items that rely on an expired Price Book.
