Business Segment Setup

Introduction

Business segments are divisions of your company dedicated to performing specific services, such as drilling or waste disposal.

Prerequisites

To add business segments, you need the following permissions:

  • Minimum permissions for the FieldFX modules you are using

  • System permissions:

    • Customize Application

    • View Setup and Configuration

How it Works

When you add business segments, you can link each of the following to business segments

Add a Business Segment

Checklist Object Segment Configuration

Configure the Segment picklist on the Checklist object.

  1. Click Checklist.

  2. Under Custom Fields & Relationships, click Segment.

  3. Under Picklist Options in Values, click New.

  4. Enter the business segment.

  5. Select the Record Type Name checkbox.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Under Picklist Options in Values, click Reorder.

  8. Change the order.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Continue with eForm Config Object Segment Configuration.

eForm Config Object Segment Configuration

Configure the Segment picklist on the eForm Config object.

  1. Click eForm Config.

  2. Under Custom Fields & Relationships, click Segment.

  3. Under Picklist Options in Values, click New.

  4. Enter the business segment.

  5. Select the Record Type Name checkbox.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Under Picklist Options in Values, click Reorder.

  8. Change the order.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Continue with Job Object Segment Configuration.

Job Object Segment Configuration

Configure the Segment picklist on the Job object.

  1. Click Job.

  2. Under Custom Fields & Relationships, click Segment.

  3. Under Picklist Options in Values, click New.

  4. Enter the business segment.

  5. Select the Record Type Name checkbox.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Under Picklist Options in Values, click Reorder.

  8. Change the order.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Continue with Price Book Object Segment Configuration.

Price Book Object Segment Configuration

Configure the Segment picklist on the Price Book object:

  1. Click Price Book.

  2. Under Custom Fields & Relationships, click Segment.

  3. Under Picklist Options in Values, click New.

  4. Enter the business segment.

  5. Select the Record Type Name checkbox.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Under Picklist Options in Values, click Reorder.

  8. Change the order.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Continue with Quote Object Segment Configuration.

Quote Object Segment Configuration

Configure the Segment picklist on the Quote object:

  1. Click Quote.

  2. Under Custom Fields & Relationships, click Segment.

  3. Under Picklist Options in Values, click New.

  4. Enter the business segment.

  5. Select the Record Type Name checkbox.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Under Picklist Options in Values, click Reorder.

  8. Change the order.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Continue with Report Template Object Segment Configuration.

Report Template Object Segment Configuration

Configure the Segment picklist on the Report Template object:

  1. Click Report Template.

  2. Under Custom Fields & Relationships, click Segment.

  3. Under Picklist Options in Values, click New.

  4. Enter the business segment.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Under Picklist Options in Values, click Reorder.

  7. Change the order.

  8. Click Save.

  9. Continue with Sync Configuration Object Segment Configuration.

Sync Configuration Object Segment Configuration

Configure the Segment picklist on the Sync Configuration object:

  1. Click Sync Configuration.

  2. Under Custom Fields & Relationships, click Segment.

  3. Under Picklist Options in Values, click New.

  4. Enter the business segment.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Under Picklist Options in Values, click Reorder.

  7. Change the order.

  8. Click Save.
    You’ve finished adding a Business Segment.
