Introduction

A job workflow tracks the status of jobs.

A job workflow features the following components:

How Job Workflows Work

FieldFX Back Office

The Status field displays a job’s status.

To change the status, click the workflow button for the next status.

FieldFX Mobile

This information and these steps are for the older FieldFX Mobile and not the newer FieldFX Mobile App.

The Job Status indicator displays a job’s status.

To change the status:

Select the status indicator
Select the next status
Select Proceed

Syncable Job Statuses

Basics

You can control whether jobs sync to FieldFX Mobile when they reach a status.

When you select Sync for a status:

A status trigger selects the Sync checkbox on a job when you transition it to that status.

Jobs in that status are syncable.

When you deselect Sync for a status:

A status trigger deselects the Sync checkbox on a job when you transition it to that status.

Jobs in that status are no longer syncable.

Considerations

When you change a job in FieldFX Mobile to a status that doesn’t have Sync selected:

The job remains accessible in FieldFX Mobile after your next sync.

The job is no longer accessible in FieldFX Mobile after you sync twice.

The status trigger doesn’t select the Sync checkbox for a job when you move it to a syncable status if:

The job’s customer is marked Archived

The job’s price book is inactive

Validation Rules

Validation rules run when you change the status of a job:

If the job passes validation, it transitions to the new status
If the job doesn’t pass validation, you can’t change the status until you enter valid data.
The job may now display read-only.
The job may no longer display in FieldFX Mobile after the next sync.

Read-Only Statuses

Jobs become read-only when they reach a read-only status.

Refer to the Restrictions for Read-Only Jobs section for a list of restrictions when jobs become read-only.
