Tile Setup

Prerequisites

Basics

Tiles are a display feature in FieldFX Mobile that show information about items in lists.

There are five types of tiles:

  • FX Form

  • Job

  • Quote

  • Ticket

  • Work Orders

FX Form Tiles

Basics

Define the fields on FX Form tiles by adding a compact layout for the FX Form object.

Use the same compact layout for all record types or specify different layouts for each record type.

Adding a Compact Layout for FX Form Tiles

  1. Access FieldFX Back Office

  2. Switch to Salesforce Classic

  3. From Setup, enter "object" in the Quick Find box, then select Objects

  4. Open the FX Form object

  5. Complete the following:

    1. Under Compact Layouts, click New

    2. In Label, enter "FX Form Tile Layout"

    3. In Available Fields, select the fields to include on FX Form tiles

    4. Click Add

    5. In Selected Fields, change the order to determine the layout of the tile

      • The first field displays as the heading

      • The second field displays as the subheading

      • Subsequent fields display in regular size text

    6. Click Save

    7. Click Compact Layout Assignment

    8. Click Edit Assignment

    9. In Primary Compact Layout, select "FX Form Tile Layout"

    10. Under Record Type Overrides, hold down CTRL and select the record types to use the compact layout

    11. In Compact Layout to Use, select "FX Form Tile Layout"

    12. Click Save

Job Tiles

Basics

Define the fields on job tiles by adding a compact layout for the Job object.

Compact layouts for the Job object also control other features.Refer to the Layouts article for details.

Use the same compact layout for all job types or specify different layouts for each job type.

You must include the Tracking Number field on job tiles.

Adding a Compact Layout for Job Tiles

  1. Access FieldFX Back Office

  2. Switch to Salesforce Classic

  3. From Setup, enter "object" in the Quick Find box, then select Objects

  4. Click Job

  5. Complete the following:

    1. Under Compact Layouts, click New

    2. In Label, enter "Job Tile Layout"

    3. In Available Fields, select the fields to include on job tiles

    4. Click Add

    5. In Selected Fields, change the order to determine the layout of the tile

      • The first field displays as the heading

      • The second field displays as the subheading

      • Subsequent fields display in regular size text

    6. Click Save

    7. Click Compact Layout Assignment

    8. Click Edit Assignment

    9. Under Record Type Overrides, hold down CTRL and select the job types to use the compact layout

    10. In Compact Layout to Use, select "Job Tile Layout"

    11. Click Save

Quote Tiles

Basics

Define the fields on quote tiles by adding a compact layout for the Quote object.

Use the same compact layout for all quote types or specify different layouts for each quote type.

You must include the Tracking Number field on quote tiles.

Adding a Compact Layout for Quote Tiles

  1. Access FieldFX Back Office

  2. Switch to Salesforce Classic

  3. From Setup, enter "object" in the Quick Find box, then select Objects

  4. Click Quote

  5. Complete the following:

    1. Under Compact Layouts, click New

    2. In Label, enter "Quote Tile Layout"

    3. In Available Fields, select the fields to include on quote tiles

    4. Click Add

    5. In Selected Fields, change the order to determine the layout of the tile

      • The first field displays as the heading

      • The second field displays as the subheading

      • Subsequent fields display in regular size text

    6. Click Save

    7. Click Compact Layout Assignment

    8. Click Edit Assignment

    9. Under Record Type Overrides, hold down CTRL and select the quote types to use the compact layout

    10. In Compact Layout to Use, select "Quote Tile Layout"

    11. Click Save

Ticket Tiles

Basics

Define the fields on ticket tiles by adding a compact layout for the Ticket object.

Compact layouts for the Ticket object also control other features.Refer to the Layouts article for details.

Use the same compact layout for all ticket types or specify different layouts for each ticket type.

You must include the Tracking Number field on ticket tiles.

Adding a Compact Layout for Ticket Tiles

  1. Access FieldFX Back Office

  2. Switch to Salesforce Classic

  3. From Setup, enter "object" in the Quick Find box, then select Objects

  4. Click Ticket

  5. Complete the following:

    1. Under Compact Layouts, click New

    2. In Label, enter "Ticket Tile Layout"

    3. In Available Fields, select the fields to include on ticket tiles

    4. Click Add

    5. In Selected Fields, change the order to determine the layout of the tile

      • The first field displays as the heading

      • The second field displays as the subheading

      • Subsequent fields display in regular size text

    6. Click Save

    7. Click Compact Layout Assignment

    8. Click Edit Assignment

    9. Under Record Type Overrides, hold down CTRL and select the ticket types to use the compact layout

    10. In Compact Layout to Use, select "Ticket Tile Layout"

    11. Click Save

Work Order Tiles

Basics

Define the fields on work order tiles by adding a compact layout for the Work Order object.

Use the same compact layout for all work order types or specify different layouts for each work order type.

You must include the Work Order Number field on ticket tiles.

Adding a Compact Layout for Work Order Tiles

  1. Access FieldFX Back Office

  2. Switch to Salesforce Classic

  3. From Setup, enter "object" in the Quick Find box, then select Objects

  4. Click Work Order

  5. Complete the following:

    1. Under Compact Layouts, click New

    2. In Label, enter a descriptive title for the layout, such as "Work Order Tile Layout"

      Include the work order record type in the title to make it easier to identify.

    3. In Available Fields, select the fields to include on work order tiles

    4. Click Add

    5. In Selected Fields, change the order to determine the layout of the tile

      • The first field displays as the heading

      • The second field displays as the subheading

      • Subsequent fields display in regular size text

    6. Click Save

    7. Click Compact Layout Assignment

    8. Click Edit Assignment

    9. Under Record Type Overrides, hold down CTRL and select the work order type(s) to use the compact layout

    10. In Compact Layout to Use, select the layout title you entered in step 5(b)

    11. Click Save
