Inventory Tracking Setup

To set up the Inventory Tracking feature, you need to:

Step-by-Step Guides

Configure the FX Settings

  1. From Setup, enter custom setting in the Quick Find box, then select Custom Settings.

  2. Click Manage next to FX Settings.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Select EnableInventoryTracking.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Continue with Add the Catalog Track Inventory checkbox to the Price Book Item object.

  1. From Setup, enter object in the Quick Find box, then select Objects.

  2. Click Price Book Item.

  3. Under Custom Fields & Relationships, click New.

  4. Select Formula.

  5. Click Next.

  6. In Field Label, enter Catalog Track Inventory.

  7. Under Formula Return Type, select Checkbox.

  8. Click Next.

  9. In Catalog Track Inventory (checkbox), enter the following formula:

    FX5__Catalog_Item__r.FX5__Track_Inventory__c
  10. Click Next.

  11. Click Visible twice.

  12. Click Next.

  13. Select the page layouts on which to include the checkbox.

  14. Click Save.

  15. Grant permissions for the checkbox.

  16. Continue with Configure Catalog Items.

Configure Catalog Items

  1. Open the Catalog Items tab.

  2. Open a catalog item.

    You cannot use the Inventory Tracking feature for Labor catalog items

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Select Track Inventory.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Repeat these steps for other catalog items if needed.

  7. Continue with Grant Permission to Manage Warehouses and Warehouse Items.

The Warehouse Item record has been deprecated and is no longer supported or updated. Use the Stock Item record instead which requires a FX EAM license.

Once FX EAM is installed, follow the steps in to add stock items.

  1. From Setup, enter permissions in the Quick Find box, then select Permission Sets.

  2. Open a permission set.

  3. Under Apps, click Object Settings.

  4. Click Warehouses.

  5. Click Edit.

  6. Under Object Permissions, select Read, Create, and Edit.

  7. Under Field Permissions, select Read and Edit for every field.

  8. Click Save.

  9. At the top of the page, click the arrow next to Warehouses and select Warehouse Items.

  10. Click Edit.

  11. Under Object Permissions, select Read, Create, and Edit.

  12. Under Field Permissions, select Read and Edit for every field.

  13. Click Save.

  14. Repeat these steps for other permission sets if needed.

  15. Continue with Grant Permission to Select Warehouses and Warehouse Items.
