Quote Item Builder

Prerequisites

Basics

The Quote Item Builder is a quote management tool in FieldFX Back Office.

Use the Quote Item Builder to:

  • Add price book items to quotes

  • Edit quote items

  • Delete quote items

Getting There

Open a quote in FieldFX Back Office and click Quote Item Builder.

Quote Details

The Quote Details section displays basic quote information.

Search Filters

Use the Search Filters to filter the quote items shown in the Item grid.

Item Grid

Basics

The Item grid displays the quote items on a quote.

Use the Item grid to add, edit, or delete quote items.

Parent & Child Items

Child items display indented under their parent item.

Bulk Update

Use the Bulk Update feature to edit multiple quote items at once.

To use this feature, select quote items and click Bulk Update underneath the Item grid.

Barcode Scanning

Use the Barcode Scanning feature to scan barcodes on items to add them to quotes.

To use this feature, click in the Barcode field and scan the barcode on the item.

Stage Pricing

Use the Stage Pricing feature to apply a fixed price to a collection of quote items.

To use this feature, select Ticket Itemsquote items and click Stage Pricing underneath the Item grid.

Item Picker

Use the Item picker to add price book items to a quote.

Enter a quantity in the # field next to a price book item to add it in the specified quantity.

To open the Item picker, click Expand on the right side of the page.

Step-by-Step Guides

Opening the Quote Item Builder

  1. Access FieldFX Back Office

  2. Switch to Salesforce Classic

  3. Open the Quotes tab

  4. Open the quote

  5. Click Quote Item Builder

Adding Quote Items

  1. Open the Quote Item Builder as described above

  2. Click Expand on the right side of the page.

  3. Select price book items

  4. Click Add Selected

    Child items get added automatically when you add their parent item.

  5. Click Close on the left side of the Item picker.

Adding Quote Items from a Hierarchical Price Book

Prerequisite

Set up the Hierarchical Price Books feature.

  1. Open the Quote Item Builder

  2. Click Expand on the right side of the page

  3. Click Extended Price Book Items

  4. Select price book items

  5. Click Add Selected

    Child items get added automatically when you add their parent item.

  6. Click Close on the left side of the Item picker

Adding Child Quote Items

Prerequisite

Designate dynamic parent items.

  1. Open the Quote Item Builder

  2. Click Add Child Items next to a dynamic parent item

  3. Select child items

  4. Click Add Selected

    The child items display indented under their parent item.

  5. Click Close on the left side of the Item picker

    Add Child Items mode is now disabled.

Copying Quote Items

  1. Open the Quote Item Builder

  2. Move down to the Item grid

  3. Select items

  4. Click Copy Selected

  5. Click OK

Editing a Quote Item

  1. Open the Quote Item Builder

  2. Move down to the Item grid

  3. Click the arrow next to the item

  4. Click Edit

  5. Make edits

    You can’t edit the discount for items that have Locked Discount selected.

    You can’t edit the price for items that have Locked Price/Markup selected.

  6. Click Save

Editing Multiple Quote Items

  1. Open the Quote Item Builder

  2. Move down to the Item grid

  3. Select items

  4. Click Bulk Update

  5. Make edits on the Updated Selected Items panel

    You can’t edit the discount for items that have Locked Discount selected.

    You can’t edit the price for items that have Locked Price/Markup selected.

  6. Click Update

Applying Stage Pricing to Quote Items

Prerequisite

Set up Stage Pricing for quotes.

  1. Open the Quote Item Builder

  2. Move down to the Item grid

  3. Select items

    You can’t apply stage pricing to items that have Locked Discount selected.

  4. Click Apply Stage Pricing

  5. In Total Staging Price, enter the price to charge for the items

  6. Click Apply

    • The total price for the items is now the specified stage price.

    • The discount percentage of each item also updates.

    • To remove stage pricing, delete the items and then re-add them.

Deleting Quote Items

  1. Open the Quote Item Builder

  2. Move down to the Item grid

  3. Select items

    You can’t delete an item if:

    Child items get deleted automatically when you delete their parent item.

  4. Click Delete Selected

  5. Click OK
