Work Order Statuses

Basics

Work Orders follow through a sequence of statuses that represent a "life cycle" for the order.

Key Features

  • A Work Order’s Type determines the sequence of statuses.

Not all types require all status stops.
  • Work Order Requests have additional status options not applicable to other types.

  • Work orders in Ready to Schedule, Scheduled, and In Progress affect the order’s Stock Items' Planned Stock quantity.

  • Work Order Statuses are predefined and built into the logic of FX EAM.

Statuses can be deactivated, but user defined statuses for work orders cannot be added.

  • Planned Stock items are committed and demand recorded in the stock item record when a work order is in Ready to Schedule, Scheduled, or In Progress status.

Planned stock items are not recorded as actual costs on the work order until they are issued to the work order, despite the demand record.

How It Works

Work Order Status changes are generally handled by the system, but they can be manually changed depending on user permissions.
