Inventory Locations
Basics
An inventory location is a specific bin in a Warehouse where stock items are located.
The available values are defined in picklists in the Inventory Location object.
| The same set of picklist values are used for all Warehouses. Individual warehouses cannot have custom bin locations. |
Four hierarchical location codes in sequence define the inventory location:
-
Row The default values are the numbers 1-10.
-
Section The default values are the letters A-Z.
-
Level The default values are the numbers 1-10.
-
Bin The default values are the letters A-Z.
Together, these four bin locations become the a unique identifier of a specific bin in a Warehouse in the format:
01:B:02:C where
-
01is the Row
-
Bis a Section of the Row
-
02is a Level of the Section
-
Cis the Bin on the Level
