FXL Quote to Job

Introduction

FXL Quote to Job enables FieldFX Back Office users to convert a quote to a job when using Lightning Experience. To be converted to a Job, a Quote must have values for Customer, Office, and Price Book. If the Quote has a value for Job Type with a matching Job Record Type, the new Job will have that record type. Optionally, configure custom labels for the FXL Quote to Job Lightning Component, such as for translations.

To use the FieldFX Lightning package starting with version 1.225, you must use the FieldFX Managed Package version 1.529 or higher.

Converting a Quote to a Job

These instructions are based on the default setup for the Quote Lightning Record Page provided by FieldFX.

Be aware that any customizations made might affect how the Quote to Job function works.

  1. Access FieldFX Back Office.

  2. Switch to the Lightning Experience.

  3. Access the Quote.

  4. Click the Quote’s Jobs tab.

  5. Click Create Job from Quote.

    The system administrator can change where the button displays and the label for the button.

  6. Click Create Job.

  7. Make the following entries:

    • Select the Record Type to use for the Job

    • Complete any additional Job details in displayed fields

      The ability to complete Job details can be disabled by the system administrator.

      Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).

      Available values from the Quote automatically prefill the fields, but can be changed. Only editable fields display.

    • Select the record type to use for the generated Ticket.

      The system administrator can disable this option.

  8. Click the Job ID to work with the new Job record.
